I Received this as a gift, and it is very interesting. It has a lot of simple high end recipes that are easy to follow. and the authors include a lot of insight. It is a little advanced for the novice, but no problem for the intermediate cook.

The best part is their comments on how the flavors combine.
 
Sounds like a very nice book. Next time I am in Border's Books I will have to look at it. I love the cookbooks that give a little background information. Maybe that is why I have enjoy just reading cookbooks. :)
