our fannie farmer, circa '72, has disintegrated into several (chaotic) sections. but it's still our baseline reference.
dw also likes rachael ray's 30 minute meals books.

Fanny Farmer and Cooking for Young Homemakers are both falling apart and kept together with rubber bands.
Another good one we have is A Taste of the Country. It is composed of recipes from homemakers across the US. Lots of good country cooking in it.
