My husband has asked for a food plane for Father's Day. An image search on google yielded nothing useful, so I'm not sure what I'm looking for. Could anyone direct me to a website that would fill in the blanks for me?

What you are probably supposed to be looking for is a microplane grater. Google that. You'll come up with plenty of hits.

Attention....attention please...there IS intelligent life here!!!!!!!

I've gotten bogged down with "plane" stuff and all I could think of was all different food placed in an airplane shape. :ermm:

It's got to be a MANDOLIN. Why don't you ask him, and impress him with what we've thought it is?
How does he cook? If he loves to slice things, I'll take bets, folks.
anyone in?

Microplane universe!

OK, now I'm on to the right general concept, I have to choose from a dazzling array of microplanes. Any suggestions as to which one or ones would be the most useful?

I'd recommend the wider microplane. Mine is 2 x 5 inches or so.
And keep that plastic cover; you can reverse it and slide it on
the underside of the microplane... voila! Instant "catcher" for the
grated goodies!

Microplane model on sale

And it's on sale! Thanks, Pretend Chef (Andy)!
