My Oxo Good Grips vegetable peeler takes a slightly deeper cut and is super sharp, making it great for russets. For lighter skinned potatoes, and carrots and such, I like the common, everyday peelers found in the department stores. They take a thinner bite, but aren't as good for russets. Also, the Oxo is great for shaving chocolate, and cheese. It's a well made kitchen tool IMO.
