I picked this up at the Goodwill the other day. Vintage Chicago Cutlery 40s. 4 inch Chefs knife. First one I've seen and I look at a lot of knives.

I think it may be one of my new go tos. You can't really use a proper grip, but more of a pointy finger on top of spine grip. It's pretty comfortable. Nice for vegetables.20180428_194033.jpg
 
I wonder it it was originally a longer blade that broke near the tip and was ground down to its current length.
 
I've looked around online and it seems to be a CC standard model. The 4 inches is a bit different for sure. Well worth the 1.99 I paid.
 
OK. I based my guess on the fact that the handle is so big. It looks bigger than the blade.
 
Rare, but I occasionally see one in a thrift store. $1.99 is about right. Good find, a handy little knife!
