Thanks! I am looking for a thermometer and a digital scale at the moment. I was thinking about a Thermopen and a Salter :)

Can't help you with Canadian online retailers, but I DO have a Salter electronic scale. Have had it for about 10 years and couldn't cook without it. Never had a moment of trouble with it and when it doesn't work any longer, I'll definitely get another Salter. In all the time I've had it, I've only replaced the battery 2 times and I use it ALL the time.

Cayne's Housewares is great, I've bought from them several times over the years. Great customer service.

Brand Name Discount Kitchen Appliances, Discount Housewares, Shopping for Cuisinart & Kitchen Aid.

For pot, pans, knives, I usually go to Paderno, a company based in PEI. Sign up for their newsletter. They have great sales, and again, great customer service.

Paderno
