I washed my ceramic salt & pepper shakers out this week-end and lost two of the stoppers (down the drain? who knows where they ended up). They were made of plastic, and were wearing out anyway. Does anyone know where I can buy replacements, OR, if there is a homemade solution? I was thinking of carving up a wine cork, but, my luck (ineptitude), I'll cut off a finger.

I've seen small bags of assorted corks in kitchen stores. Some are small enough to fit S&P shakers.

Or you could just put a piece of duck tape over the bottom, Duck tape fixes everything (except my girlfriends cooking)

have you tried sauteed sliced duct tape a la Bordelaise? quite the rib sticking meal I'm told.

kitchen and hardware stores sell bags of assorted plugs both cork and plastic. worth a try.

You might also want to send an email to the company. They might even send you some replacements for free.
