Rolling Pins - what do you like?

Mine is a solid stainless steel roller with ball bearing roller ends, I took it out of a Very Old Xerox copy machine many many years ago.
the roller itself is Mirror smooth also.
it`s effortless to use just dont Drop it!

My daughter explained to me that the taper on the french pins was there to allow for uneven pressure.

The taper is there to provide clearance for your knuckles!

I actually use a can of shaving foam as a rolling pin. I like it for logistical and economical reasons. It functions just fine.

Logistical reasons? Does that mean you keep shaving cream in the kitchen, or that you roll out dough in the bathroom?

It means that I'm an English student living in the south of the Netherlands, and hopefully by the end of the year, I'll be living in the north. I don't have my own transportation so I need to travel light and don't want to spend money on stuff just to leave it and buy new again. I also used an old (clean) t-shirt to squeeze the water from grated potato, figuring after the wash, no-one would be the wiser, but that turned out to be a bad move. I can still wear it underneath I guess...
