I use a $1 spray bottle. 3 or 4 squirts against the oven walls a couple of times during baking give a perfectly adequate crust to baguettes. Just get the door open and closed quickly.

I have the steam bottle part of it. It came with my old vacuum cleaner and carpet sweeper as a package. I use it to steam clean the grout on my tile countertops.

I must be way ahead of my time. I already have one of those "steam generators" but I've been using it to CLEAN my oven, stove, floor, etc., and get rid of mold.

I don't think I would want to use that on my bread.

Yep, I have one of those too - but a spray bottle works too! It's just a blast of steam Dave - not a perpetual steam release.

mcnerd - I bet your machine is pretty clean and would work fine for this. it doesn't "suck in" the stuff you are cleaning - it just gives it a dose of steam to help in the cleaning process.
