I use my stainless ALL Clad griddle all the time over 2 burners. My only problem is that one of the burners is larger than the other. But I can deal withthat. It works fine.

I have used my cast iron LC grill pan (one burner) on stove. I hate the grill pan but it works fine.

Believe it or not, a great place to find cast iron cookware is in an antique shop. I have a couple pans that are well over 100 years old but as long as they're kept seasoned, they work great! Plus, you can find all sorts of old-school (and I mean OLD-school) cookware that can be pretty fun to use! :)

I've just joined today, and found all of the remarks helpful. I do cook with cast iron most of the time and hate to think of giving it up when I buy a new ceramic cooktop. Does anyone know of a disc that lays on top of the burner ring, then the cookware sets on top of that? The sales clerk mentioned that one range manufacturer used to make a sort of ceramic cover, but I don't know what it would be. Seems like a good idea.

I am not sure why you'd want to do something like that..... ?? Why put a disc down when you can just set the pan directly on the cooktop?
