Guess what I found?

Last weekend, as I was mowing all the tall stuff from the backyard, I found a pot. It was right under the water faucet. It's a 7 qt cast aluminum Dutch Oven. Didn't find the lid, unfortunately. It needs some serious TLC, as there's white, calcium-like build-up on the surfaces of the pan, as well as lots and lots of grass clippings.

Amazing what one finds when gardening! Maybe it was being used to water an animal?

Quite possibly. My husband's mother used a pot like that for the dog's water when he was outside.

I have one of those tucked away in the basement pantry annex. I haven't used it in years.

It's probably just calcium build up from that good Sapulpa water!

Get out the vinegar to get rid of the scale and it sounds like you have a new pot to use. Nice find Allen.

I'm sure it was used to water the previous folk's Pit Bull. I haven't done anything with the pot, yet, but I'm sure I will.

What brand is it? Does this aluminum Dutch oven have any marks on the bottom? I bet you could find a lid that fits. Is it round or oval?
