I wonder how badly things scorch on the sides of the pot.

Good Point! I guess if all you do is boil water 34% faster, it's not an issue.

This is interesting but I'd be more interested in a pot that cooks food well rather than one that gets hot faster. After all, I use cast iron.

With fins on the pot it can lose heat just as quickly.....
