hey andy..........now to boil water ina cast iron ........no way bro.
I did purchase a plastic scrubber ? Looks like steel wool , sept its plastic.
that works well on the touch stuff.
By the way, thank you for the reply earlier
NOw its off to the garage, to use my new 10" dutch, for my apple /raisen, crisp!!!!!!!!!!!!

In a properly seasoned CI pan, the cast iron does not come in contact with the ingredients or water. That's what the seasoning is for. It coats the CI to prevent it from rusting and reacting with foods.

If you don't want to put water in a CI pan, that's OK, but it's not because it's a forbidden activity.
