Smile Bread Knife
I thought this was cool, for some reason my family lacks knives lol, so i was forced to make a salad with a bread knife, and WOW i found it ALOT easier to slice through a cucumber with a bread knife than a chef knife, maybe because my chef knife is dull? Anyways next time your slicing a cucumber try a bread knife, it cut ultra thin perfect slices for me REALLY fast, lol, ITS SO COOL!

I think you're right -- your regular knives are dull, probably VERY dull.

Or, sharpen what you've got...

Another trick is to cut the cuke (or any other skinned veggie) in half, and then cut
from the inside. Much easier if your knife is in need of sharpening.

I regularly use a serrated knife for tomato cutting. ;)
