I'm going to join the crowd and say this is not a great idea. Sure, you may never have a problem. But if it's warm in the kitchen and the fridge has condensation on it (even barely perceptible), the strip could slip and then you looking at some banged up knives.

Not to mention that knives will fall off a strip every once in a while, unless you are extremely coordinated and never bump the other knives while you are pulling one off.
