Can I make apple butter without cider?

Can't get it to save my life over here, but otherwise I'm ready. What do you think??

Great, pdswife! Especially the last one which has so many helpful photos!

Sure wish I had a crockpot now since I had NO idea this took so long to cook, however -- gyros we've got over here; crockpots we don't. Maybe I'll wait 'til I drag one down from the U.K.

Enjoy your trip to Greece! Hope the wedding is in a weather-friendly month and that you take additional time to see the sites!

Thanks for your help -- looking forward to filling my kitchen with the smell of simmering apple butter!
