Can you can pesto?

Is there a canning section here? I have a question from a friend about whether it is possible to can pesto. If there is a specific area I will post there, otherwise if anyone has an answer for me I would appreciate it. Thanks!

I dont see why not Alix. I never did it, but if you can it properly, it should be just peachy.
Maybe someone else has more info for ya.

Hi Alix,

Well I found your question interesting because I have only really seen pesto being frozen, so I thought I would do a little research and I found a site that had the same question you had with a few replys.

http://food4.epicurious.com/HyperNew...1-900/814.html

I also found a few sites of intrest on freezing it and things of that nature.

I hope these help out !

Thanks for the tips. I think I will stick with freezing it as you shouldn't heat the pesto to boiling so the canning thing is out. Thank you for the links to the other sites they were quite helpful.
