Frozen chicken - how long is it good for?

I immediately froze up some chicken cutlets about three weeks ago. I'm sure it's still OK to eat, but would you rather throw it out?

Three weeks? If the cutlets were well-wrapped, they could last up to 3 months. I'd say they're just fine. I'd use them. Definitely wouldn't throw them out.

Three weeks is nothing! They're fine to eat.

The key is good wrapping to avoid freezer burn and picking up odors....and a freezer temperature below 0 degrees (-20 F is good) Given that my chicken pieces should still be a happy camper for 9 months, maybe more. A whole chicken is even longer.

A lot depends on how you wrapped/packaged them - but even under the worst case I wouldn't toss them after only 3 weeks.

Three weeks in my freezer represents the new kid on the block.

They are fine.

I just made a dish with some chicken that has been in my freezer for 10+ months. I am not dead. Though the chicken was not at its best.
