Habaneros are...well...HOT. I dried several in the oven and the chopped them and froze them. Everytime I used them in recipes, they were not at all hot. Is that normal or did i mess up?

Had you tasted these particular peppers before freezing them? Freezing them would not affect the heat level. It is possible though that they were just never hot to begin with. I have grown peppers where one batch was as mild as could be and the next batch was hot as the sun.

I have some habaneros in my freezer now and pull them out as needed. They are VERY hot! Did you dry them whole or did you remove seeds and ribs when you dried them?

I dried them whole, but I cannot remember whether we had tried them off that particular plant before they were dried. I was just curious.
