ISO help/tips w/strawberry jam.

hi,
i just made a bottle of strawberry jam, but it came out too watery!
here's the list of ingredients:
500g strawberries
270g caster sugar
1 lemon
1 tablespoon butter

any suggestions on how to make it thick and not so watery
