I made Plum jam in Oct 2004.
This from the light, yellow plums. ( don't know the name)this jam came out beautiful, tasty, a little on the tart side but, a good plum flavor.
I still have about 6, 1/2 pints. They have tuned dark. I opened one yesterday it does not have any "old" taste but it has lost some of it's flavor.

Any problem with eating it??

TIA,
Charlie

If it was properly made and canned - I don't see any apparent health problem with eating it if it doesn't have fuzz or foam on the top. Jams are good for a year when properly processed - and you're talking about something only 16 months old. I've had jams that were pushing the 2-year mark that were still good.

The darkening color is likely just the effect of oxidation. Not a big issue.

I agree with Michael. Unless you open it up and discover that a new lifeform seems to have taken up residence , it should be fine.
