Sub for a pickle crock?

Is there a good sub for a pickle crock? I want to make some pickles tomorrow I have made fridge pickles before but I want to go for the real thing. Any other pickle tips would help?

Five gallon plastic buckets that are food safe, Mason jars

Any large glass pickle jar should work fine and follow the same procedure for keeping the cucs submerged, etc.

You, and others, may want to think twice about the simple refrigerated pickle. There is a concern with a different bacteria -- Listeria.

Well crap. NOW you tell me. I left a jar that refused to seal properly in the fridge and we've been eating them all week. That listeria is BAD stuff. Thanks for the info.

Here's what I use..

2 gal plastic " food grade" bucket with a plastic bag on top..

I use this recipe..man, they are sour
