I'm canning my housekeeper, and thus preserving my sanity.
Last night finished the first round of pear preserves. Did 6 pints and three 1/2 pints. I see a hot biscuit in my near future.
Did some biscuits yesterday for my lovely wife to take to work. She said everyone was staring at her biscuit and wanted some preserves. LOL.
I spent much of yesterday morning canning Habanero Chutney. I may have overdone the heat a bit, but it really came out quite tasty.
Looks fantastic, Steve! Love the ingredients.
I made a massive batch of apple butter in the CP (actually, 2 big CPs), and it's thickening nicely. I've been freezing previous batches and giving it away, I may can this batch. Only one more grocery bag of home grown apples left, along with a full drawer in the fridge. Yay! I'm pretty sick of apples by now, my tree was very prolific this year. I expect next year we might get 2 apples.
Strangely enough, I can't recall having had a single apple this year. I don't know what's the matter with me. I love apples.
I think a trip to the orchard is in the cards!
But today I'm canning pork loin roasts that I found on manager's special at the local Kroger. $1.59 per pound.
