Hey everyone!! *waves* I'm trying to get back on track fitness wise. I lost 15 lbs last year and so many inches, it was awesome and I felt so great...then work started to get crazy and I stopped making time for working out. I still eat relatively well, threw out all the whites and we eat whole grain and whole wheat breads, pastas, etc...but I just can't seem to get my work out back on track. Help me y'all! I need a fire lit under me, a workout partner would be so awesome. I need someone to kick my butt back into the gym!!! *cries a little bit*

    Very true, mama!! LOL
Well, I can't say I have been on the elliptical, I just HATE that thing, but, I do turn up my music and dance around like an idiot, hehe, so, I'm getting some and even when I'm sitting here, I bounce my legs and spaz out a little, lol

That's because it was an addiction...not just a habit.

There you go Texasgirl!!!! 2 times a day is great! It will get easier and easier! Fisher's Mom and Elaine are right...take one day at a time...and change your eating habits a little at a time. They say it takes 21 days to break a habit and 21 days to create a habit! We'll all get there...together!

I am one of those people that hates the elliptical. I will do anything but that. Run, treadmill, walk, bike. I think short term goals work best for most people. Eating habits can't all change at once so pluck away at them a few at a time. When you no longer have that habit (such as eating after dinner, cleaning your plate or someone else's) then move on to the next. Make better choices. Small ice cream cone instead of a sundae. One cookie instead of three.

ok, I know you're right, I will try my hardest
to do it 3 times a day.

Ok, I just forced 1/2 mile. BP 136/87 and pulse 137, so, all is good, lol, except, my legs feel like rubber bands!! Approximately 12 minutes at 2.8 - 3.2 mph. can't seem to keep a steady, but, that's ok, I guess. I think 2 times a day like that is ok, right

Mama is giving you good advice, Stacy. Five minutes 2 or 3 times a day would be a good start. You have to build your heart muscle as well as your other muscles. Do it for a week and then next week try to increase your time. I know you're frustrated but try not to think about how long it will take. Just think about today. One day at a time is a pretty good motto for most of life's challenges. You can do it!!!!

Hey Texasgirl! I know what you mean. I quit smoking too. Quitting smoking is a lot easier because unlike food, you can just stay away from them but you have to have food. As far as the elliptical...you were on it for 5 minutes...that's great. Get on there another 5 minutes this afternoon and another 5 minutes this evening. Pretty soon you'll be able to do 8 minutes each time and then 10...yo'll get there. Just remember that you didn't put the weight on overnight and it's not going to come off overnight either. Hang in there! You can do this!

Quitting smoking wasn't half as hard as this. I know I have to do it and I get on the elliptical, but, I can only stay on the stupid thing 5 minutes before my chest is hurting. How am I going to lose weight like that? I get so frustrated thinking how long it's going to take. Thanks FM and and Mama. I will keep coming here and watching how you guys are doing and try to get some inspiration from all of you!!!
