Hi Dave, no, you are NOT nagging. I actually have slowed down a lot. I am doing a fun BDay cake this week for my best friend's son, who I adore, a shower cake for the 23rd and a very small wedding cake for Sept. 2nd. The cookie order is a standing one and I can make them in batches and freeze. What I am doing is baking when I feel good so that I am not stuck at the deadline. The decorating for me is fun and relaxing and I can do sitting down. I know for the average person this would still be considered work, but for me I have slowed down a lot - no big events where I am on my feet for two weeks. Thanks for being a concerned friend. And thanks for the book info!
Dave, I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but I am happy to tell you that the world of baking for diabetes has really changed....and it isn't all based on artificial sweeteners! As my life is settling down a bit (probably temporary but I will take it!), I will be happy to PM you some recipes. I still owe Patty one for Diabetic chocolate angel food cake! My training in special diets seems to have become my greatest gift and I love it because it helps so many people and I have fun with it too.
So good to see you around, my friend. I am in the middle of wedding season and so far so good, except for the heat which is killing me in the kitchen. Some of my chocolate work (Nanaimo Bars, Coated strawberries, etc.) have taken a beating but I have managed. How are things with you?
Hey Dave, as far as I am concerned you don't "owe" me anything. Good friends share and I love hearing about your baking adventures! I am trying out a lemon cake (not loaf) for a wedding cake and will let you know how it goes.
Hello would you know if luster dust, Sparkle dust, and Pearl dust are edible? Its for chocolate seashells I'm making for wedding favors. I 'm thinking of using lusterdust.com to purchase these products. Thanks for your help. Jenn
Sorry, Dave, it looks like I missed your birthday. With everything going on I missed a lot here. I hope it was a happy one, you deserve it! Did you make your own birthday cake? LOL!!!!
Dave, I know what you mean about staying in love by staying away - for us we do fine in our kitchen but if we are running someone else's kitchen we have to set out ground rules for ourselves or we butt heads! By the way, I hope you will accept my friend request.
