Goodweed, I made sloppy Joes the other night. I put your recipe beside the stove, I browned the beef, cooked the onions and garlic, then realized I wasn't in the mood to follow a recipe so I through in some mushrooms, salsa, a can of beans, worstershire sauce, salt and pepper and slapped it on toasted buns. DH loved it and said "tell that guy his recipe is really good!" (it was still sitting beside the stove and he didn't know I strayed from it). Just had to tell you my little story!

Nothing for nothing, but I think they'll pull this. A couple of weeks ago I started a thread about Pat Paulson (remember him) running for Pres. They pulled and PMed me about it. So don't be surprised.
I did like yours though. All in good fun, I know.

Hey Goodweed, how are you doing? Has your wife got a date for surgery yet. Let me know so I can keep her in my thoughts and prayers, having just gone through the whole thing. Hope you had a good time with your family and seeing the new grandbaby. If you want, I can give you a never-fail apple pie filling....if you haven't perfected it by now! Maybe I will see you at the tub sometime soon.

Hey LPBieer and sichuan dingdong. I'm at the tub today. And I like pie better than cake (snicker, hint, hint). DW is doing better by the day except that her knee is about done and needs replacing. That is scheduled for the near future though. I will be traveling to Seattle for a couple of days to see the new grandchild. I'll not have much time, but you can bet it will be prescious time to me. Other than that, I'm still fishing, working, and improving my cooking skills. My breads are now awesome, but my apple pie needs work. The crusts are perfect, but the filling is runny. I just ahve to make more of them. My other pies come out great. I only have trouble with apple. But I soon hope to have that recipe and technique down to a science as well.

Hey Goodweed, how's it going? Sorry I haven't been round the "tub" in awhile but 2 knee surgeries in a month and I can't get my leg wet for another week. Hope all is well with you. We will have to get together and share some good eats again soon!

Just been busy both at work, and at home. DW is coming along, but not as quickly as we'd like. Still, it's been less than a week since the surgery and she's up and about and has been for a few days now. There has been some relief from the chronic pain, but all is not gone. We just pray that she continues to get better and better as time progresses. Keep her in your prayers. I know she appreciates that. I told her about everyone from DC praying for her. She was touched and it brought a smile to her face. After a month or two, she's supposed to get a knee replacement as her right knee is no good. I hope that helps with her ongoing knee pain. I understand that a knee replacement is not as good as a good knee, but it should be better than a bad one. She'll need some prayers for that one as well.

All in all, things are better after the surgery than before. I just hope and pray that it gets better still. The poor woman has suffered enough pain over the years.

    And, thanks for your concern.
