Me too GW, think how full our poor families would be with the two of us cooking! I'm glad to hear your wife is recovering well and congratulations to you! 24lbs is significant!

I am so happy that you got your cheese and were able to enjoy it all by yourself. You will be happy to know that on my just prior to Christmas Costco trip I bought a 6 year block and a gift pack that includes smaller wedges of 2, 3 and 5. I used the two in some gourmet mac and cheese I made for entertaining, gave the 3 and 5 to friends and kept the 6 for me, who is also the only one in the household that has a taste for the good stuff! I am just about done and savouring every bite. And I suggest visiting those Ontario friends as often as you can

Hey, Goodweed my dear friend! You probably have thought I forgot about the Balderson 6 year cheddar but I haven't. They still have some at Costco from Christmas. I finally talked to my Customs friend and he said that if we go through a courier company they have all the information for cheese. It can be sent (courier only, not mail of course) and there is a maximum size/weight, but this would definitely qualify. The only thing is the cheese is $13.95 and then there would be the cost of the courier - even in Canadian funds you might be looking at a lot so I will leave it in your hands my friend. I would love to send it to you as a gift for the help and friendship you have given me, but at the moment I just couldn't manage it.

I know well how tough it is to be a caregiver and to worry about one you love. Come to us for support my dear friend, this family is wonderful for that. Blessings and peace be with you this Christmas. May the road rise to meet you, and the wind be always at your back. The sun shine warm upon your face and may God hold you in the palm of His hand. I'll say a prayer for your wife's quick recovery.

thank you for the kind comments. you are also easy to get along with. people start on a level with me and i see which way the scale tips. i can't be bother wasting my time being nasty back to nasty people. you will rarely see me give them the satisfaction of sinking to their level.

there are 2 ways of thinking:
1 - Do unto others as you would have done unto you.
2 - Do unto others then split!!

i prefer number 1 But if you rub me the wrong way 1 too many times i WILL resort to number 2 and trust me it WILL be number two!! (ifya know what i mean!! LOL)

I actually checked that when we first talked about the cheese. They don't even have online sales within Canada! What a company! I checked the regulations on food products going from here to the States and cheese is a definite no. I wish I could be of more help.

Goodweed, so good to see you about and posting. You always have lots of good things to say! By the way, are you still interested in 6 year old Balderson? I am still trying to figure out how to get it across the border. Do you think if I hollow out a cookbook and stuff the cheese inside they won't notice?
