I made a seafood salad yesterday. Imitation crab (surimi), celery, onions, crumbled bleu cheese, and, because I thought the bleu cheese would pair nicely with tart and sweet apples, I chopped up one in the salad. The apples, pink ladies, were on sale.

The apples were dreadful! Absolutely no taste, and a weird texture, like dried apples.

Did I choose the wrong variety? Did I just get a bad apple?

Sounds like a nice salad for this warm weather, Joel. :yum: Try it with Granny Smith apples next time. Nice and tart, and they have a good firm texture.

Pink ladies are a favorite of mine. You probably got some of last year's apples that were too old/stored improperly.
