i was just told by my first ex-wife that another of our icons had passed; this, after buck owens just a week or so ago;

another song singer, who we may or may not have given three shakes about, buys the farm, cashes in the chips, etc, etc, and mostly all of us say, "so what? we all gotta go!!"

but there are those of us who can still suffer a small bit, never having known, or touched, or even cared about on any personal level, the late lamented singer; except............
if the first dance you danced was to a gene pitney song;
if, the first time you became as one, gene pitney was on the stereo;
if, the first song you heard after the door slammed behind her was "town without pity"................
enough! you get my drift!
a novena tonight for gene pitney, and what he meant, in terms of his music, to so many teenage experiences..................................
