Hello everyone,

Can I brine my Butterball Turkey if the pachage says:

Contains up to 7% of a solution to enhancejuiciness andTenderness, Contains 2% or less of salt, natural flavors modified food starch, sodium phosphates

Thanks forany help!

I brine my turkey that's already got some "stuff" in it - just don't use as much salt since it's already there to some degree.

not a problem. when it says that it has a solution, that means it has already been "brined". Either soaked or injected, depends on the company.

matches, welcome to DC. We had this discussion just the other day. To settle the question, one of the members called the Butterball hot line. According to them, frozen Butterballs are injected with a solution and should not be brined. Fresh butterballs ad not injected and can be brined.

Hope that helps.
