Thinking about getting a small meat slicer for home use and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts or insight on getting one? For those who may have one, do you recommend a certain name brand over all others? If so, why?

I have a Waring Home Slicer. My original intentions of purchasing a slicer were for making Asian dishes, but as I grew to enjoy BBQ and Smoking, I find myself slicing the left overs into sandwich meat.

All in all, I don't get NEAR as much use as I had expected. But when I have an application for a slicer, I really do like it..

The Waring, Chef's Choice and the Kenmore almost bear a striking ressemblence to each other.

I have this one. Do I justify the price? well the way I see it you can't take it with you... Do I use it? Yes. This is a medium duty slicer and works very well. I will have to say if you have one they come in very handy, for all kinds of slicing.
