I made these from a recipe that called for unsalted butter and wanted to say to anyone making them, use a recipe that calls for a bit of salt if you use the unsalted butter. Something is missing in my cookie. I hadn't realized what a difference 1/4 tsp of salt can make. The best I can describe my cookie inside is rather flat.

Licia, had the original recipe called for salted butter or unsalted plus some salt? You're right, depending on rest of the ingredients, a small amount of salt can affect how the cookies rise. I hope they still taste OK!

They taste great as long as you pop the whole thing in your mouth:rolleyes: and, of course, that is what needs to be done to keep sugar from covering your clothes. But I will either use the salted butter or a pinch of salt to unsalted next time. Live and learn should be my motto!!!!
