Hello everybody!

I am a newbie here and I have been looking around the site. I am amazed at how friendly everyone is; I really think this is the most laid back and helpful site I have been on!

I was inspired to join by this quotation: "So it is with food in America. We can look at our own food with beginners eyes. We have no one culinary history that traps us into any box. Once you realize that there is no one kind of American cooking, you can explore with abandon. Still, there always seems to be a taste that tells you this is southwestern USA, not Mexican. Or this is New Orleans, not French. We may not be able to define ourselves but we know who we are. We are a country of regional cooking."

I would love to put together a book of American cooking using the above quote as a guideline. I would be grateful if folks here would send me their favorite American recipe (I will put them all together with the sender's name and State - if desired).

If you can help me with this goal, please send your recipe to:

americanhomecooking@yahoo.com

Best wishes everybody!
