Hey Everyone! :chef:

My Father-In-Love will be joining us for dinner tonight, and i was wanting to make Chicken and Dumplings, mashed potatoes, and crossants for the meal. I was wondering what other spices or herbs i could add to my recipe to make it better... This is the recipe i have..

3-4 Chicken breasts or thighs
Water or a Can of Chicken Broth
2 Tbsp. Butter
S & P
1/2 tsp. Basil
3 drops of Yellow Food Coloring

Then for the dumplings:

2 cups of flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 Cup Milk

I know that there are lots of different ways to make this, i'm mostly just wanting to know what i could add to this to give it more flavor! Thanks for you help!

Whoa! Got carbs? :)

Sage and rosemary are great herbs for chicken.

Good luck!

The song says it best: parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme. Works with chicken or turkey. The only thing about rosemary is that it is kind of tough, so add it in at the beginning so it has time to soften up. And parsley, unless it is dried, should be added at the end so it does not lose its flavor.
