Can I save it? I had it thawed on the counter for brie en croute. Then my darling 4 yr old walked up to the counter and pounded his fist into it.....
luckily I had time to thaw the other. I re-froze the smashed one, can I still use it somehow?

Yes you can use the smashed one by just sprinkling it lightly with flour (after you thaw it again) and going over with a light rolling pin. The smashes or punctures will be gone and you can use it any which way you like it.

It hadn't yet been unfolded though..... you're saying it will separate?

I would re-roll it out. It won't hurt it a whit.

I thought when I read the thread title that someone had pounded a finished dessert. THAT would be un-fixable.

I re-roll out the left over bits of puff pastry to reuse. We always make vol au vents cases or matchsticks with left over pastry. Roll and cut until you run out of pastry!!
