In an effort to eat a more well balanced diet I decided to start this thread.

I want to eat healthier without depriving myself. I enjoy all types of food but carbs seem to be hurting me.

Any idea is helpful, I do eat alot naturally, Im a big person.

Avoid breaded, fried foods; try to avoid the prepared foods aisles in the grocery store, i.e., buy mostly fresh fruits, veggies, meats and seasonings such as ginger and garlic, and prepare simple meals using those ingredients with spices and lots of fresh herbs.

Instead of white bread, pasta and rice, try whole wheat bread and pasta and brown rice. HTH.
 
That i do know. Whole Grain Wheat is where its at.

Also, I try to stay away from fries, chips etc.

Beef Jerkey is my new best friend, when it comes to snacking I reach for the wild bill's.

Ive been working on a treadmill and doing some other activities and crunches.
 
South Beach cookbook has some great recipes for cutting back on the BAD carbs.
Also just by not eating carbs after say...5:00 really helps out as well.
I have the problem of getting the munchies around 7 or 8, a spoonful of Peanut Butter usually helps curb that.
