I want to cook a roast in the crock pot then shred it and put BBQ sauce on it for sandwhiches. What is the best roast to use?

If it's beef, go for Boneless (or bone-in) Chuck Roast. Even a Boneless Beef Shoulder Roast will work.

For Pork, use the Pork Shoulder Blade Roast (Boston Butt) or the Pork Shoulder 'Picnic'.
