ISO Asian apricot dipping sauce

Making pot stickers tonight and I would like to make some sort of apricot dipping sauce. I had it once before at a Japanese steak house. It was like a thick glaze. Can I use dried apricots?
 
This is from a bbq buddy of mine, but you could probably modify it to be a dipping sauce...

Mr. Browns Sweet and Sour Sauce

2 jars apple jelly
1/4 Cup horseradish mustard
2 large cans crushed pineapple (drained)

Toss it all in a sauce pan and let simmer, stir it once or twice for good measure.

Substitute your apricot preserves or jelly for the apple and cut the proportions down and you'd be all set.
