Hey everyone, I just joined today and it seems like a really great information and networking place.

Im a 35 yr old father of two great kids, I was injured at work a few months ago and hurt my back as a result I cant work construction any more. I have a love for cooking and triing to put a new zing on old favs.

Having a hard time getting my foot in the door with my lack of actual resaurant experience. Any one have any tips or advice? :chef:

Try the other foot!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just kidding. Most of us don't have restaurant experience, so you'll be at home here.
But if you don't mean here, but in the real world, you'll have to be more specific, and I'm sure you'll get answers from others. I can't help with that.

Anyway, welcome, orlando.

Hey orlando - welcome!
It is hard to do anything, without experience, but I'd suggest starting out by going to places you love the most, and asking if you could make an appt to speak with the chef at a later date. Some may decline, but others may give you some wonderful advice.
