Thanks! I am looking for a thermometer and a digital scale at the moment. I was thinking about a Thermopen and a Salter

Can't help you with Canadian online retailers, but I DO have a Salter electronic scale. Have had it for about 10 years and couldn't cook without it. Never had a moment of trouble with it and when it doesn't work any longer, I'll definitely get another Salter. In all the time I've had it, I've only replaced the battery 2 times and I use it ALL the time.
