So, Last year I had a bumper crop of kiwi's ( about 800+ ) After eating, making jam, fruit salads...still had about 400 left over. So, I went to a specialty store here which supplies beer and wine making supplies. I decided to make Kiwi wine. Harvested them in October. Started the wine making process in mid November. And I just bottled them ( about 30 bottles ) today. It was an easy and fun process. I cant wait to do it again this year. Just curious if anyone else makes their own wine from fresh produce.

Oh, what I wouldn't give for a glass of homemade blackberry wine!

Time was, the Italian Americans here would make what was called "Dago Red" from their own grapes, and was it ever good! Potent, too...a small glass would make me feel warm and tingly all the way to my toes.

Unfortunately, the old ones have passed on, and their children haven't hung on to the old ways. It's even hard to find a decent ravioli around here anymore.
