Too coarse a crumb

What technique does it take to get the fine crumb of a bakery cake at home?? I can't seem to get my cakes to have that lovely fine texture of a bakery cake. Mine turn out a more rustic look and I want it to be more elegant.

What kind of flour are you using?

Cake flour will help give you a more tender crumb.

I will definitely buy some cake flour this week and try again
