I need some help with some very basic electronics and for some reason i can not grasp the concept. If any one here has a eletronic background i would love some help.

Im trying to understand why current is amps and NOT volts. To me, volts is the current or flow of electricity.

How is amps the flow or current?

thanx

Nope, thats why a 500,000 VOLT stun gun won't kill you...
but 120 AMPS will.

Ah! I finally remember what my 8th grade shop teacher said.

Think of a wave. A BIG TALL wave will knock you down and kill you dead. That's AMPS, as in size... amplitude.
But a lot of little waves just knocks you back and forth a lot. That's VOLTS, quantity.

Hmm, interesting. Never thought of it that way.
