How long is process to render leaf lard?

Hi there!

I have a few packages of some beautiful leaf lard from a local farmer and I am wondering how long should the entire process take? I have a toddler and may be out and about and this looks like something I need to plan ahead for right?

Also, how much lard can I render - if I fill the pot half way with solid fat, is that about right? What if I filled it to the 2.3 mark?

OK, I finished rendering and I would say it took about 5 hours in total in case anyone wanted to know!

Had to look up "leaf lard", as I'd never heard of it, Tara. Sounds like a good thing to have!
