I need a tried and true sausage roll recipe, please. I made one last night from a web recipe link (cannot remember which one) I used frozen bread dough, sausage, etc. Even though I jelly rolled it tight it had a lot of bubbled up places full of air after baking. I thought it would stay more like a cinnamon bun. Suggestions from you about this and also if you might have another appetizer recipe like this, I would appreciated your posting it. Thanks, Helen

do you have the recipe that you used to post? I've never heard of this.
but I do have a recipe for something along that pinwheel thing, but it is a Cold recipe
used w/ luncheon meat.

ISO Sausage Roll Recipe

I did not use cottage cheese, egg, or extra seasonings. Helen

1¼ hours | 20 min prep

Sausage roll

1 1/2 lbs sausage, skin removed
8 ounces mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 lb pizza dough or bread dough
2 eggs
1/4 teaspoon oregano
2 teaspoons parsley
salt

Drained cottage cheese for Mozzarella and parmesan.
Cook sausage in frying pan and drain.
In a large bowl, combine sausage, mozzarella, parmesan, 1 whole egg, and 1 egg white.
Mix well.
Add parsley, oregano and salt.
Roll dough into a circle the size of a medium pizza.
Spread sausage mixture on top and to within 1" of the edge.
Roll up dough like a large jam roll or log cake shape, place on baking tray.
Brush top lightly with beaten egg yolk.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes until golden brown.
Let cool and slice in serving portions
Store in the fridge.
