Many you know that 3 months ago today we had a sewage flood in our townhouse that we are still trying to recover from.
Well, DH got home from work about 11:30 pm last night and by the time we were crawling into bed it was just barely after midnight. Minutes after the light went out we heard that familiar awful sound of water running all over the place. The fact that it was on the 12th of the month 3 months later did not get lost on us.
Thankfully, in some respects, it was a much smaller flood than the first time. We contained it into one bathroom, ironically the one that was not hit as bad the last time. And the problem this time was the toilet itself instead of the sewage system in the building. We were shampooing the new carpet outside the bathroom door, bleaching the raw cement (still no floor in there and trying to patch the toilet as best we can because the other bathroom is totally out of commission for who knows how long.
DH spent the rest of his day off going to Home Depot picking out a new toilet. But we are not installing it until the floor is in because it will just be taken out again. This won't be covered under insurance or our strata fees because it is a new claim (we don't want our deductible going up for a toilet) and it was not a strata problem.
I can't wait for all this to be over.
