...really good stuff. Garlicky Greek dip made with mullet roe.

I would love to make this stuff at home, but I have no idea where to source mullet roe locally.

Anyone else make this? Where do you get the roe?

Different animals. Taramosalata is more of a dip, like hummus. Made with white bread, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice. The roe flavors it.

Although the bottarga looks really good.

Not that it will help you too much as I am on the other side of the world but I get fish roe from the fish monger's. I have also wanted to experiment using the roe from scallops as I am not so keen on that part of the scallop and it seems a sin to waste it.

Love taramosalata... and I love lots of different types of fish roe - cooked in a lot of different styles. Spread over fresh bread with butter is yummy!
