My wife was watching the food channel this week, and Tyler Florence made a pumpkin banana meringue pie

Pumpkin Banana Meringue Pie Recipe : Tyler Florence : Food Network

The recipe calls for 2 sugar pumpkins , 6 bananas .....

We have a regular sized pumpkin, so she is not sure exactly how much of this pumpkin she should use to be equivalent to 2 sugar pumpkins.

If some of you more experienced bakers could take a quick look at the recipe, and give her a general idea of the amount of pumpkin she should mix in, it would be appreciated.

I tied looking for the video of him making the recipe online, but couldnt find it. I figured if i saw it , i could get a better idea of how much he was using.

I may be wrong, but I believe 11-12" (at the widest point) is considered to be "average" pie-pumpkin size.
