I thought I would share a tip I came up with for dehydrating herbs. I placed my basil leaves, oregano leaves, and sage leaves in the Excalibur dehydrator only to have the fan blow them back at me when I placed the trays in.

My solution that worked great was to take the plastic screens from other unused trays and lay one on top of each tray of herbs. That kept them from moving while still allowing air flow with the holes in the screens. Not only did it hold down the light weight herbs they also dried somewhat flat.

This tip would work for anything that is light weight and could blow around. It would work for dehydrating spinach leaves or collard greens too.

Great idea!

I have a Norco(?) and am going to try this! My trays stack, and this may work to put a space in between each and allow air to circulates better!
Hope you came thru the flooding there ok, I used to live in Nashville for about 10 years, and miss a lot of my friends.
