Can some one please tell me what the diffrence is between a roasting pan and a dutch oven...big thanx jb:question:

A roasting pan is a wide flat often rectangular pan with no lid. It is usually no taller than 3-4 inches. It can be made of stainless, aluminum or coated steel.

A dutch oven is a heavy covered pot with a lid.
